Youth Ministry
Our Sunday School program, developed for grades Pre-Kindergarten through Six, occurs each Sunday at 10:15 AM, from September through Mother's Day. The program uses the rotational model. Each child learns about Bible stories in five different ways. Rotation examples may include drama, storytelling, videos, crafts, games, food, nature, music, and much more.
The Sunday School classes put on a Christmas program for our congregation each December, and also hold a youth service on Palm Sunday.
Confirmation Ministry
The Confirmation Ministry is for youth in 7th & 8th grades. Our 7th grade students learn about the Bible, while the 8th grade participants learn the basics of faith- such as the Ten Commandments, the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, and Holy Communion. All students also learn about their Lutheran heritage and about other faiths around the world. Our students are confirmed in October of their freshmen year in high school.
Besides attending class, confirmands serve the church through serving snacks after worship on Sundays, performing worship services, and being helpers in Sunday School. They also learn about helping the wider world through community service events. All confirmands attend Luther Park Bible Camp in Chetek, WI, for at least one week during their time in confirmation.
Youth Activities
There are many activities for youth at Trinity. High school students attend "Godstock," a weekend event in which they gather with other highschoolers from across Northwest Wisconsin to sing, worship, and share their faith. They also have the opportunity to gather for our "Films and Faith," nights, which are a chance to watch a movie at Pastor Brad's house and talk about their faith or other issues in the world brought up with the movie.
Another activity that Trinity offers it's you is the youth choir, open to all youth 7th grade and up. In the choir students sing modern worship songs and give praise to God through music.
One of the biggest events every year for the kids is the Sonshine Music Festival in Willmar, MN which occurs in July. Over 20,000 people attend the festival where the youth hear the best bands in Christian music, camp out, share in fellowship, and have nightly devotions. Everyone who goes on this trip comes back with wonderful memories and amazing experiences.
Another activity Trinity Youth can get involved wit his VBS. Each summer Trinity hosts a Vacation Bible School, in which counselors come from Luther Park Bible Camp to lead grades Pre-K through Six in songs, Bible studies, crafts, and games. VBS is usually held during the third week of June.
Other youth activities are the annual trips skiing and to Noah's Ark water park, movie nights for junior and senior high youth, bowling, roller-skating, the week-long ELCA Youth Gathering, the courtesy Vacation Bible School, lock-ins for Senior High and Middle School students, and we also offer a wide variety of activities for families and kids of all ages.Ó
